Weekly Block Schedule & Multi-Roles To Dos

Parents have a lot on their plate. With the pandemic our roles have gotten even tougher. We have more on our plates than we have ever have before. Looking at this large list of roles and jobs can make one feel overwhelmed and actually get less done with the overwhelm. I created two systems that have helped me to feel organized and on top of the work in the house, and I hope that it can help you get a handle on yours as well.

Block Schedule

Setting up a block schedule can help one to feel like they know what they are doing and when they are supposed to do it. I helps with the snowballing cleaning, the touching everything multiple times as you move it from one place to the other, skipping meals, and more.

When you take into account all you have to do and when you have blocks of time to work, you can set yourself into getting it all in while giving yourself a time to cut it off and move on.

I print and fill out my block schedule. I then laminate the the sheets. This allows me to add things to it weekly, while still having the routine written down. I write in ultra fine permanent marker and when I am done, I cross off the item with a dry erase marker-erasing it for the next week.

Multi-Roles to do

With all the roles one has in a their life, it may help to narrow down what MUST be done and prioritize. This allows you to write all of your roles: work, home, kids, multiple jobs, etc. and then what you need to do that day for that job. Bonus, meals are on the bottom so you have it planned and dont forget to do it!

I print the pages, write the jobs I have every single week on that day (my lunch/cleaning job from my block schedule, for example), laminate the pages. I write in ultra fine permanent marker and when I am done, I cross off the item with a dry erase marker-erasing it for the next week.
