The “Rain Gear Bag”–part of the “bag series”
It is a rainy spring day here and it got me to thinking about my addiction to
1) Bags & 2) Organization. With now THREE kids (and one on the spectrum) packing can be tricky–and it is all my job because I am too type A to share it. I have found a system that works great for me to make the packing for big events and small to be super easy.
**I am not a 31 consultant, but I can honestly say that the 31 utility totes are great for most of the bags I am packing and are what I use. If you don’t own a couple of these, you should definitely find a consultant and look into it!**
In this “Bag Series” you will {eventually} find
The Rain Gear Bag
The Sleep Bag
The Beach Bag
The Doggie Bag (not my job but still one we use)
The Snow Gear Bag
The Christmas Party Bag(s)
** I will be adding to the bag series at the appropriate seasons, and then adding the links to this page as well.
When & Why the Rain Gear Bag

Nobody likes to be wet at an event. If you are wet you are usually miserable. That is why I created “the rain gear bag.” It is stocked in the spring time (basically when we feel safe unpacking our winter gear bag here in Wisconsin).
During the regular day, the bag lives in the garage–packed. If it is a day where the kids want to get out and play in the rain, we just go to the garage and use all in the bag. We make sure to hang everything to dry and then replace in the bag.
When we are going to an event: a sporting event, a camping trip, etc. we toss it in the car. We usually do not unpack this bag, it is usually on bottom being placed in the car first, but is there if we should need it. It has been amazing to see rain show up and all we had to do was grab the bag and get everyone in their gear and then keep having a good time.
In the Rain Gear Bag

- Rain boots for all walkers, including adults
- Rain coats for all
- Umbrellas for all those who can carry one. –Easter Bunny brings a new umbrella to the kids when they are old enough for one.
- I toss an old game towel (you know the kind you spin around your head when you get them free at an event) in there to dry things off if necessary as well.
