Spiritual Books for Special Needs Parents

Still being in autism awareness month, I wanted to share 2 books I have found to be very helpful to me on this autism journey.
I tend to go down a book buying rabbit hole. I find a book I have to have and then do the scrolling down to the “people who bought this book also bought…” section. Bad idea. I exhibited a MINOR amount of self control and landed on these two I am talking about today.
I found a pin on Pinterest and the author of the pin had a book. Then I traveled down and found the glorious section and found the other (and 5 more that are saved for later).
I’ve had a rough time lately accepting Nolans loss of language. Add in pregnancy hormones and a very, for lack of a better word, controversial, World Autism Day I just need some spiritual up lifting.
I’ve just begun reading these two: Bible Promises for Parents of Children with Special Needs, and Embracing This Special Life. I really appreciate them. Bible promises is more of a go to in a time of need of a specific prayer, and Embracing This Special Life is more of a read.
Embracing This Special Life is speaking to my soul. It is as if my feelings were put to paper by someone else. I am working through the book as I work through my faith. I am having Alex read it next so we can have discussions about it and bond over this as well. I feel this will be a good thing for our spiritual health as well as for our marriage. Please check out Jenn’s page, Embracing Life. It is full of amazing information.
If you are in search of some books to help you through the hard spiritual times with a special needs child, these are great must check out books!

Aww, thank you for sharing about my book! I am so glad to hear that it is encouraging you on your special needs parenting journey. I’ll be praying for you. Here’s to embracing this special life together!
P.S. I think the font you use for your headings is the same one I used on my book cover. Great minds think alike!! 🙂
