Unbe”leaf”able First Birthday

Photos and links and all the fun things you need to host an unbeLEAFable birthday party for your little one. The unbeLEAFable theme is gender neutral, and it is an organic & leaf themed party!

We did not find out what we were having when I was pregnant with Bryce. In search of gender neutral, I fell in love with the colors of nature. Tans, greens, leaves, wood grain, etc. I loved it so much it grew into just what we do for Bryce’s stuff. I wanted to have the leaves at his birthday some how and I could not find the theme anywhere, so I set out to create it. The corny bulletin board making teacher in me came up with “unbe LEAF able” I then set out to combine a lot of different themes (wild one, and tropical) into a leaf themed party.

Then Covid 19 happened. Friday March 13 schools were closed. Only a week later we were told we were “Safer at Home” and that is when we knew. Bryce’s First Birthday (the one I had ordered all the party supplies for because we do first birthday’s big around here) was cancelled. We didn’t want to take the party completely away though, so we moved it digital with a new invite and the accompanied message:

The safer at home order is for a month so Bryce’s birthday party is officially cancelled. We will be doing a digital party for his cake smash, if you would like to participate:

• Download the zoom app
• On party day, at party time, click on the party link sent to your text (we get a limited amount of sign ons, so please one device her house)
• When you get on, make sure to click the camera so we can see you. On phones, swipe right to see the grid of party guests.
• There will be a group photo/screen shot!

Because everything was already purchased, we chose to still do the decorating. We will hopefully have a big party in person this summer (and if Stella’s party is cancelled which also has potential right now) we will throw one big Gloudemans’ kid bash with all the decor for all 3 themes.

I make each child’s one year board. I purchase the black foam board from dollar tree. I purchase metallic permanent markers for writing on the boards.
